Time spent fees
Simply, I charge on time spent working on your planning concerns. Time spent on your concerns is usually interpreted to include time spent on:
- technical work
- surveys or data processing
- meetings with you, consultants or advisers and with external organisations
- site visits
- travelling in connection with the work
- preparation and production reports, plans and drawings
- writing, editing, proofreading and correcting reports
- community involvement and consultation procedures
- presentations of findings
- follow-up work as agreed with you
Terms of business
As a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, I am required to agree with you in writing how we will work together. This is called our 'terms of engagement'. There is no need to be daunted by this. It is a formality of engagement with all RTPI members. It should give you confidence that you will not get any nasty surprises on completion of the work.
Free Consultation
At my discretion, I may offer you an initial consultation free of charge and without obligation if you live within 20 miles of my base. The free consultation is usually restricted to one hour.
Transparency
My work is recorded on timeEdition computer software. I provide you with records and an overview of the main activities of the project so you can see where my time has been spent.
Discounts
If you are a new or valued customer, I may offer you a discount on my fees. Any discount will be given on the proviso that your payments are received on time. If payments are late, a fee based on the full hourly rate is payable. I also have the discretion to charge interest in accordance with my terms of business.
“Darren prepared a planning appraisal and a full planning application for a change of use. He fully understood what I wanted to achieve and was very easy to deal with and quick to respond. His fees are very fair.
